Recently, video and images of a kindergarten teacher in Guangdong scolding and beating her kids has found its way on to the internet, much to the horror of the kids’ parents.
The video, filmed from across the road, shows a female teacher in a blue shirt standing at the doorway of a classroom with 20 small children lined up waiting to be allowed to go inside.
One by one, the children step forward and the teacher uses a bamboo stick to slap them across their body, three to five times each, while shouting, “Whoever didn’t go to sleep won’t sleep now!”
According to NetEase, reporters have confirmed that the incident occurred on August 11th at a kindergarten in Xinhui, Guangdong province. Apparently, the video has actually been floating around the web for quite some time, but it was only recently that it was viewed by the parents of the children getting hit.
When local reporters tried to enter the kindergarten to ask questions, teachers would not allow them onto school grounds. However, they did admit that there had been an incident of a teacher “scolding” students and that teacher had been dismissed. Later, the school had a meeting to explain the incident to parents and promised to maintain a higher level of character among their faculty members.
Just last week, photos showing a boy in Chongqing beaten bloody by his primary school teacher horrified netizens with many wondering what kind of abuses were going on unseen at their own children’s schools.
Let’s just be glad that this teacher didn’t get her hands on the kind of sticks that Yunnan traffic inspectors like to carry around.
