One man was killed yesterday in a tragic accident that occurred while workers were preparing for a concert by Taiwanese mega-star Jolin Tsai hosted at a stadium in Nanning, Guangxi province.
As workers were preparing the stage, the stage lights suddenly collapsed on top of them. Following the accident, firefighters pulled 14 people from under the wreckage at Guangxi Stadium, reports NetEase. One victim was killed and another was seriously injured.
Organizers canceled the concert, scheduled for Saturday, and offered full refunds to ticket buyers.
“Please pray together for the victims,” Tsai wrote on her Weibo account.
Taiwanese pop legend Jolin Tsai, aka the “Queen of C-pop,” aka “Asia’s Dancing Queen,” has sold more than 23 million albums in her highly-prolific career. Earlier this year the music video for her lesbian-themed hit “We’re All Different, Yet the Same,” was banned in Singapore for violating the nation’s broadcasting code.
