A 45-year-old Chinese woman from the mainland was arrested at Hong Kong International Airport yesterday evening after assaulting three security inspectors following a confrontation during security checks.
According to NetEase, at around 9 p.m three security inspectors stepped forward to stop the woman from entering the departure lounge as she was unable to provide her boarding card for inspection.
Soon afterwards, a dispute broke out between the two parties and the woman started assaulting the inspectors. A huge crowd gathered to watch the fracas.
The three inspectors were able to overpower the woman and hold her until police arrived and took her into custody. All four were injured in the incident and have since received treatment.
It is as of yet unknown what caused the woman to mount her bold attempt to board a plane without any valid credentials, but it is not the first time that visitors to Hong Kong airport have caused a commotion.
In March of this year a man from Shandong province shot to stardom after he was seen making himself a meal in the airport terminal with his rice cooker, earning the apt nickname “Rice Cooker Bro.”
