HSBC World Golf Championship @ Sheshan International Golf Club
Today is the first day of the championship, scheduled for the Pro-Am tournament, followed by round 1 on Thursday. The World Golf Championship has been held on the same course in Songjiang for many years. Tiger Woods is quoted praising Sheshan as, “The crowning jewel of all Asian golf” (2009).

Nordic Design Week @ 800 Show

The National Theatre of China presents a patriotic tale of hardship as men are forced dig their way out of a freak blizzard. Written and directed by the highly esteemed playwright Guo Shixing, known for ‘Trilogy of Beijing Idlers’, ‘Bird Men’ and ‘Toilet’.

Pursuing Pleasure @ Shanghai Art Theatre
Meng Jinghui is a celebrated contemporary theatre director from Beijing who has quite the cult following in the PRC, although recently he’s being criticised for selling out. ‘Pleasure’ is based on Bertrand Russell’s ‘The Conquest of Happiness’ and Meng purposefully casts amateur actors in the lead roles.

Ólafur Arnalds @ Shanghai Symphony Orchestra Hall
Arnalds is an Icelandic musician and producer who used to drum in metal bands, but has since settled down into a more ambient genre. His credentials go beyond drumming and Dj-ing; he actually won a 2014 BAFTA TV Craft award for Best Original Music on the ITV series ‘Broadchurch’.
