One sophomore girl at Yangzhou University who is participating in a work-study program at the university cafeteria has unexpectedly found fame on campus and online after smitten students dubbed her their very own “cafeteria goddess.”
The girl surnamed Li started working at the cafeteria just a week ago, she comes in every day for lunch and dinner. Since she arrived, business at Li’s window has completely skyrocketed with more and more students venturing upstairs to feast their eyes on the “cafeteria goddess” and apparently eat the food as well. With so many admirers, it is even getting hard to find a seat on the cafeteria’s second floor.
“It was just a part-time job, I never thought that I would become famous on Weibo,” Li said. “When I first saw, I was really shocked.” Still, it doesn’t seem like she is letting the fame go to her head. “I just hope that I can do a good job at work, I don’t want to be a bother,” she added.
One university freshman described her appeal: “The canteen goddess is beautiful, but her heart is even more beautiful. Her true attraction lies not only in her appearance, but in her friendly, earnest and hard-working personality.”
Li joins the illustrious ranks of Taiwan’s “McDonald’s Goddess” and “Pork Princess” as women that will give you food but steal away your heart.
