One man in Sichuan has turned his home into a personal library of sorts by saving nearly 40 years worth of reading material.
Pan Chuanming lives in a village outside of Dazhou city, Sichuan province. When Pan was 8 years old, his grandfather got him interested in newspapers. Almost 40 years, Pan has managed to amass a 7-ton collection of newspapers and books that fills up five rooms of his home and has drastically decreased the need for furniture and wallpaper.
While Pan’s dedication to the written word is without a doubt admirable, he might have gone a tad overboard here, though the stacks of newspapers seem like they could at least work well as beds for his family.
Generally, he also seems to keep things relatively neat and well-organized, unlike this elderly Qingdao hoarder whose stash ended up spewing out from her second floor window, causing her children to finally intervene.
