Crowded cities across northern China, already known for not being the ideal locations for a joyride, have seen traffic grind to a hopeless halt amid unusually early heavy snowfall and poor preparedness on the part of city officials.
The most extreme case of congestion seems to be in Zhengzhou, where you’d be excused for thinking that hell had literally frozen over. Rather than stand uncomfortably in jam-packed stationary buses, hundreds of commuters decided to get off and try their luck braving the elements, creating a massive pedestrian lane on the road that only further slowed traffic.
Meanwhile, some commuters have decided to stick to their scooters and motorbikes to get around in the snow, and have ended up looking like they have just undergone military training in the arctic wilds of northern Heilongjiang.
Yet another reason why everyone needs their own airplane.
