A truck loaded with thousands of live ducks suddenly burst into flames while cruising down the highway near Foshan in Guangdong province. While a lucky few ducks survived the inferno, more than 2,000 were roasted all too soon.
Fortunately, the two drivers were able to make a quick and timely escape. The Paper reports that one driver said that he smelled smoke, “Then, all of a sudden, the flames just jumped up, we had no time to try and extinguish them, all we could do was run for our lives.”
After he made it safely out of the truck, the driver said that he thought about trying to save some of the roasting ducks, but had to abandon the idea with the roaring flames.
The two drivers estimated the loss at around 300,000 yuan. Only about 30 ducks survived to tell the tale.
Just like yesterday’s 2,000 beehives accident, we aren’t seeing anybody trying to loot the overcooked duck carcasses. Seems like everyone has finally learned their lesson.
