“Christkindlmarkt”, the traditional German-style Christmas market is back in Xuhui this weekend with hot, spiced Glühwein, sizzling sausages and festivities galore! Paulaner Bräuhaus decks the halls with boughs of holly, lighting up Shanghai’s winter gloom with warm, festive cheer.
For the 9th year running, the tranquil gardens of 150 Fenyang Road will be magically transformed with 70 mini-alpine lodges full of Christmas decorations and wintery treats. The crisp, cold air will hum with the fragrance of sizzling sausages and hot, spiced Glühwein. A newly added Candy Hut Corner will offer traditional treats such as Belgian waffles, sugar roasted almonds, crepes and chocolate fruit skewers.
Carefully selected vendors will be there to sell everything you need for a merry Christmas such as freshly imported Danish Christmas trees, charming Christmas wreaths, exquisite ornaments, decorations, hand-crafted gifts, greeting cards and seasonal accessories.
In addition, rumor has it that this year for the very first time “Christkindl” might make an appearance at the market.
