Hawk-eyed Shanghai Metro police cracked yet another case over the weekend, catching a foreign minor defiling one of the city’s fine subway carriages with creepy graffiti.
Police haven’t revealed the vandals identity, but did say that he apologized, even writing a letter to that effect, and that is almost punishment enough. His parents will also have to foot the bill for the cleanup, according to NetEase.
The teen’s artwork was suitably angsty, featuring a half-naked man sitting cross-legged and a pair of eyes with blood pouring out. Just below the picture, he wrote the words: “Have no plans for me. I will set my soul on fire. What have I become?” These lyrics come a song by Twenty One Pilots called “Ode to Sleep.”
The song and message finishes with the words, “I’m sorry.”
