Yesterday morning, a 4 million yuan Ferrari wiped out at an intersection in Pudong, while the driver made it out ok, his ride certainly did not.
Oriental Daily reports that the crash happened at around 8:30 a.m. in the morning on Expo Avenue. The blue Ferrari 458 lost control at an intersection, colliding with a lamppost, guard railings and eventually a van.
By the time the vehicle came to a stop, its rear had been pretty much obliterated along with the engine. A Ferrari 458 is estimated to cost around 4 million yuan in China, in case you’re in the market? You can probably get this one for cheap.
Eyewitnesses report that the driver was a young man and he emerged from the car relatively unharmed considering the carnage. Hopefully, he had not been drinking like the young driver of a Koenigsegg in Chongqing who wrecked his 25 million yuan rental car while out on a drunken joy ride.
Luxury car crashes are roughly a weekly occurrence in China. For instance, it was just this summer that one driver decided to take his limited-edition Ferrari worth 22.5 million yuan out for a little spin in the rain and utterly destroyed the thing.
