Fan Xuesong of Hainan Airlines has been praised as the “most beautiful flight attendant” in China after feeding a partially paralyzed 71-year old passenger and moving him to tears.
71-year-old Mr. Niu is a retired professor of medicine who was flying from Zhengzhou to Haikou with his wife and child. A previous stroke left has left him wheelchair bound. Initially noticing his physical difficulties, Ms. Fan moved him to the front for greater space and easier access to the bathroom. However, this meant being separated from his wife and kid.
During mealtime, Ms. Fan noticed that Mr. Niu could not lower his head to eat, and how his hand trembled when spooning rice into his mouth. She quickly walked over to him, knelt down and asked if he needed help. Although Mr. Niu mumbled too vaguely for Ms. Fan to understand, she proceeded to feed him anyway.
As Ms. Fan fed noodles to Mr. Niu, he was reportedly moved to tears. He later sent a text to his friends that read: “I couldn’t help but cry as she helped me eat, blew my nose and wiped away my tears. I do not know the girls name but given the chance I would thank her again.”
Shocked by the attention she’s received online, Ms. Fan responded by saying, “Mr Niu worked hard all his life and contributed to society, we should be kind to him.”
