Artist Liu Bolin recently used his skills to camouflage a number of models into Beijing’s smoggy scenery in order to make a statement about the quality of air in the capital.
Beijing has recently endured two serious bouts of air pollution, prompting city authorities to declare a red alert which forced schools to close, construction workers to down tools and half of the city’s cars of the road.
Known as the “Human Chameleon” for his specialty in camouflage, Liu has described his latest piece as “a reflection on Chinese people’s current living situation.”
His latest project, in which he camouflages seven models into the Beijing smog, was an attempt to highlight the severity of the capital’s pollution problem.
