As you might know, driving in China can get a bit crazy. In a country that is surpassing 1.4 billion in population, there are a few individuals who aren’t exactly experts behind the wheel and here are ten very good reasons from this year to stay off the roads.
10) Anhui woman puts it in reverse, crashes 6 meters below
Heads up! This Anhui women managed to reverse completely off of a parking area, crashing six meters below but miraculously walking away unscathed.
9) Woman gets fined by traffic police after video of her singing KTV into golden microphone while driving goes viral online
In October, this woman was caught on video using her car as a KTV, seemingly intoxicated, belting out her heart into a golden microphone as she weaved through traffic on a Chengdu highway.
8) Determined Sichuan cabbie says screw it, drives down flight of stairs
This no-nonsense cabbie scared the wits out of everyone present by driving his taxi down three flights of stairs after finding himself “trapped” inside the campus of a technical university in Chengdu. His determined actions instantly made him an internet hero.

7) Driver caught using IV drip while talking on phone tells cop he’s “good at multitasking”
This was actually the second person caught this year using an IV drip while driving, but this man was also talking on his telephone. Double the infractions!
6) Hangzhou man drives his BMW into West Lake while playing with his smartphone
Reportedly too busy playing on his smart phone to notice the incoming lake, a young man drove his car right into the famous West Lake. It took several hours, but after many failed attempts, the car was recovered from the lake, even taking a fish with it.

5) Drunken Brazilian drives 700km from Chongqing to Hubei
The man drank over 500ml of Wuliangye baijiu, a potent Chinese spirit with a 52% alcohol content, before going on his 700km roadtrip. A breathalyzer test indicated that the man’s blood at the time of testing was 169 milligrams per 100 milliliters, well in excess of the 80 milligram Chinese legal limit.
4) Chongqing man has brush with death as 60-inch circular saw crashes into truck
In June, a Chongqing man had a brush with death after the driver of a pickup in the opposite lane failed to properly tie down the circular saws he was hauling in his truck bed. When the pickup crashed into the median, the giant saws were unleashed upon the world in Final Destination fashion.

3) Shanghai driver stands trial after dragging traffic cop to death
Despite officer Mao Shengquan trying to stop him from taking an illegal left turn in the wrong lane, Sun Haojie drove on, dragging the policeman under his SUV and tragically killing him.
2) Man doesn’t like lady’s lane-changing, pulls her from car and viciously beats her
Road ragers might be the most dangerous drivers. A man in Chengdu with a serious case of road rage pulled a woman out of her car and beat her up so badly she had to be hospitalized due to bone fractures and a concussion, all because he didn’t agree with her lane changing style.

1) Shandong police officer runs down 5 students, killing 2 in suspected drink drive incident
The worst driver of all goes to this Shandong police officer who mowed over five students and killed two, while likely being drunk behind the wheel, because we put our safety in his hands!
