Hainan Airlines chose a very unique way to celebrate Christmas, decorating two of their planes in a festive yellow duck motif and organizing seasonal activities for passengers who flew with them during the holidays.
According to NetEase, passengers on board flight HU495 from Beijing to Seattle and HU7279 from Beijing to Sanya were treated to the airline’s new Christmas activity.
Children on the fight were invited to dress up as Santa Claus and deliver gifts, which included sweets and postcards, to other passengers. Seasonal songs such as “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” and “Jingle Bells” were played as the children handed out their presents.
We can’t help but notice that the artwork chosen for the aircraft interior bares more than just a passing similarity to Florentijn Hofman’s giant rubber duck installations which went down an absolute storm in China.
