A foolish truck driver was caught speeding down a highway with a giant plastic sheet covering the windows and mirrors of his cabin, using nothing more than a tiny hole to navigate with.
According to NetEase, the driver was seen careering down a highway in Hubei at 75 kilometers per hour on December 28. Police intercepted the driver at a tollbooth near Xiangzhou and took the unsafe vehicle off the road.
The driver, identified by his surname Cheng, is reported to hail from Fuyang city in Anhui province. Cheng told police that a few days earlier he had been involved in a crash and was forced to hand over all the money in his possession to the other party as compensation.
To save some money, Cheng decided to drive to neighboring Henan province so that he could use a repair shop he visited frequently. Cheng purchased a motorbike helmet to protect himself and covered his cabin in a plastic sheet, leaving only a 20 centimeter diameter hole to see from.
Police issued Cheng with a warning and ordered him off the highway, telling him that the consequences of a high-speed crash in his already crippled truck would be disastrous.
