A group of villagers in Guangdong have dealt out some good ole’ fashioned vigilante justice to a gang of dog thieves who were on their way to sell their recent haul.
According to NetEase, the incident took place on December 27 in Heshan county, Guangdong province. The thieves were caught after some bad driving caused their van to overturn while fleeing from two disgruntled dog owners who were in pursuit.
The three dog thieves attempted to escape, but an angry mob of villagers caught one and pulled another from the wreck before he could get away. The villagers them proceeded to bludgeon them senseless.
Inside the van, the villagers found an iron cage containing several dogs and a plethora of fake license plates. The two thieves have now been taken into custody, while one remains at large.
In comparison with previous cases of dog thieves facing the wrath of angry villagers, these thieves look to have gotten off lightly. Less than two weeks ago a pair of men who were reportedly caught stealing dogs were beaten so savagely that one of them died.
