Always looking to improve its public transportation system, China has started the New Year with its first mainland chopper commute between three major cities in the Pearl River Delta.
The helicopter in question was reportedly a Sikorsky S76 aircraft. It traveled on January 1st from the coastal city of Zhuhai to the Guangdong provincial capital of Guangzhou and then on to Shenzhen. Compared to the usual three-hour drive, the helicopter commute between each city was found to take just 30 minutes.
The scenic chopper flight wrapped up by landing coolly on a 280-meter tall skyscraper in the Shenzhen’s business district.
Ticket prices are about as high too, apparently near 5,000 yuan ($770). Still, the view is probably worth the dough.
How will UberCHOPPER respond?
