A 19-year-old girl who spent each day for several months selling paper-cuttings on a street to raise money for a life-saving operation for her brother has had her devotion to her sibling rewarded, recently receiving a donation of 100,000 yuan from an anonymous donor.
According to NetEase, Li Wanjun found out that her brother had been afflicted by uremia in September of 2015. In order to pay for the surgery he needed to cure his condition, Li took to the streets of Zhengzhou and began to sell paper-cuttings.
Li was spotted sitting on the street selling her products next to a box which read “save my brother” every day for several months, becoming known among Zhengzhou’s netizen community who were moved by her perseverance and love for her brother.
In a heartwarming turn of events, Li’s devotion to her brother was recently rewarded when an anonymous donor gave her 100,000 to help cover his medical expenses. He will soon undergo the kidney operation necessary to save his life.
