Recently, an odd-looking “luxury car” has caught the attention of netizens, not only because of its unique design, but also for its owner’s flagrant disregard for the rules.
The vehicle in question is a Polaris Slingshot, a high-end 3-wheel motorcycle made by American manufacturer Polaris Industries. It hit the market in the fall of 2014 with a price tag of $23,999. However, if you want to pick one up in China, it’s going to cost you at least 310,000 yuan ($47,000).
If you do happen to put up that kind of cash then please take the extra time and effort to actually register it, unlike this Shenzhen owner, who apparently thought he would be too inconspicuous to pull over. While it may technically be classified as a motorcycle and not a car in America, that doesn’t mean you’ll get away with driving the ostentatious thing around in China with no license or plate. The ballsy driver has been fined 5,000 yuan for his infractions, something tells us he’ll be able to afford it somehow.
Described as a “big wheel for grownups,” the Polaris Slingshot certainly seems like the best way to get around China’s notoriously crowded cities in style. Check it out here:
