In what should come as a huge relief to all cat lovers, animal activists in Jiangsu province managed to save a couple thousand kitties from being transported to Guangdong restaurants over the weekend.
Around 2,000 cats were rescued after volunteers found the shipping truck and called police, who then pulled it over on the highway and took the animals to safety. Their rightful owners, from whom the cats were abducted, are currently in the process of being located.
The war between animal abusers and activists has been in high gear of late, with the consumption of domestic animals remaining disturbingly rampant, but this story at least has a happy ending.
