An electric scooter in Henan has drawn some sympathetic attention online after being robbed top to bottom of all its valuable parts — from battery to wheels — and left abandoned for the last three months or so.
To top the whole thing off, a sticker on the front of it reads: “Money isn’t the problem, but having none is!”
The owner has yet to be discovered, but we’re going to assume he had a good laugh when he returned and found his scooter in such a pitiful state.
Found along a park riverbank in Zhengzhou, the scooter was discovered stripped clean of anything useful. According to NetEase, park workers told reporters that the sad thing had already been abandoned for two or three months. They hadn’t been able to locate the owner, so they have been reluctant to turn in what’s left over for scrap.
The area where the scooter was found is quite remote, but a nearby subway stop with many parked scooters is believed to have been its original location, before it was moved by the thief and then taken apart.
Rest in piece(s) scooter.
