Another typical day on China’s chaotic roads turned a shade more violent yesterday when the driver of a Volkswagen in Guangxi was bumped from behind by another driver while bobbing and weaving through traffic.
The driver, upon impact, exited the car with what seems to be a small hand axe, and then attempted to extricate the other driver from his vehicle. Unable to the pull open the door, the madman went to town on the car’s exterior, chopping at its windshield and exterior while the frightened driver tried to make his getaway.
Road rage is an all-too common phenomena in China, a country where many drivers are known to drive chaotically and where tempers are short. But at least it’s more difficult to make it through a windshield with a hatchet than a gun.
