Online shopping giant Suning Tesco is planning to combat the annual holiday exodus of domestic workers by temporarily hiring foreign students to work as couriers during the always hectic Spring Festival period.
Suning Tesco is looking for young foreigners, who are capable of carrying things, living in Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Nanjing and Chengdu.
Applicants are to be trained with courier skills, etiquette and relevant Chinese culture. You can start work on February 1.
We know all this because state media is reporting it, which seems a bit odd, considering the fact that working would seem to violate the terms of one’s student visa.
But, hey, don’t worry about that now, online delivery speed has apparently been wrecked by the recent brutal cold front, and companies are desperate. We’re sure they’ll be able to pull some strings and get you some very unique work experience.
