China is no stranger to weird statues — whether it’s Hubei’s recent 100-ton crayfish or Henan’s sorely-missed giant golden mega Mao , Chinese cities seem to be in a life or death competition to see who can build the most gigantic tacky-looking things.
So by comparison, a giant teapot sculpture innocently pouring a two-metre-long stream of tea shouldn’t be too strange right? Well, maybe, but it turns out that there’s a catch. The stream of liquid looks a bit.. well, shit.
As you might expect, the excrement-pouring sculpture has been ridiculed mercilessly online:
“Reminds me of the TFBOYS,” one user said harshly, while another said that it made him think of the CCTV Spring Festival Gala.
“Damn! A teapot turned chamberpot,” another joked.
If you want to visit this spectacular sculpture it’s located at a tea factory in Liangping county outside of Chongqing. According to NetEase, workers there say that some unfortunate moss growth has given the statue its distinctive green color.
