Last week, Xi’an police were a bit bewildered when they spotted an “American police car” out on the road, complete with a giant POLICE sticker slapped on the side and an inspiring quote from the Transformers movie: “To punish and enslave.”
As it turns out, the car was not owned by a very lost American police officer, but instead by some local guy who thought that decorating his car would be a fun, eye-catching thing to do before Chinese New Year.
Well, he was half right, but unfortunately the police didn’t see the fun side of it and the man discovered that what he was doing was actually illegal. After a nice and thorough check to see if the car contained anything else fake, the man was told that he had to remove the design from his car, NetEase reports.
As usual, the internet has no mercy; netizens who caught wind of the story also had a field day ripping into the man’s design choice and commenting on his overall poor decision making.
“Police: Idiot, just because you changed the outside doesn’t mean we won’t recognize you,” commented one netizen.
“This design is just too shit,” commented another.
So it’s back to the drawing board for this dude, might we suggest a somewhat less conspicuous design next time.
