If the June 16th opening of Shanghai Disneyland somehow wasn’t enough excitement for you — get this — on that same day Shanghai will open the world’s largest LEGO retail store on the face of planet Earth.
Located in Disneytown, right outside the Disneyland gates, the 1,000 square-meter shop will feature interactive indoor and outdoor play areas, large-scale LEGO models and presumably lots of stuff to buy, China Daily reports.
This is yet another piece in LEGO’s master plan to take over China, block by block. Already the company’s fastest growing market, LEGO has more than 20 stores in China and is planning to open a LEGOLand Discovery Center in Shanghai’s Parkside Plaza on April 2nd, according to The Nanfang. Costing 100 million RMB, this will be a 3,000 square meter mini-LegoLand.
And it’s already got this rad LEGO giraffe outside:
Oh, and did we mention that the Shanghai Tower (finally) opens “soon!” What a time to be alive!
