Fresh from his run through Tiananmen Square amid an AQI of 229, Facebook’s supreme leader met with politburo member Liu Yunshan to discuss the future of cyberspace.
According to Xinhua, Liu expressed hope that Facebook would “work with Chinese internet enterprises to enhance exchanges and share experience so as to make outcome of the internet development better benefit the people of all countries.”
Zuckerberg is reported to have spoken highly of the progress China has made with the internet, saying that he would work with Chinese peers to create a better world in cyberspace.
Does this mean that after all his sycophantic overtures which has seen him learn Mandarin, brush up on Xi Jinping’s magnum opus and ask the great leader himself to offer up a name for his daughter, that he’s finally hit the big time in Beijing? Only time will tell.
At the very least, he appears to have been spared an interrogation as to why he made use of an illegal VPN to make yesterday’s Facebook post.
