Well, now this is just getting ridiculous. Only a week after a Chinese woman paid for an Apple iPhone 6s online and got a Pear Phone delivered instead, a man purchased an iPhone 6s at a rock-bottom rate, and received a pancake in the mail. Not a pancake phone. An actual pancake.
Apparently, the man surnamed Hou was a bit skeptical when he found an Apple iPhone 6s online with just a 1,500 yuan price tag, 70% off the normal price. The seller told him it was so cheap because it had been smuggled into the country. Never one to pass up a bargain, Hou made the deal.
However, when a package arrived at his home the next day, he was surprised to find not a smartphone inside but a Chinese pancake (大饼).
According to Ifeng News, Hou then tried to contact the seller to get a refund, but was unsuccessful. On the bright side, he only ended up losing 1,500 yuan on the scam. The other lady may have got a Pear Phone, but paid 8,400 yuan for it.
No reports on what the man decided to do with his 1,500 yuan pancake.
