Chinese cities are already infamous for being some of the absolute worst places to drive in the world, but even drivers in Xi’an were shocked on Wednesday after getting stuck in a traffic jam created by an airplane.
The 30-meter-long, 13-ton plane stopped traffic for over an hour in Xi’an’s Yanliang District as it attempted to make a turn. Fortunately, it was without its wings or the whole thing could have taken even longer.
So, what’s the story here? Is Xi’an also planning to open up an airliner restaurant? Sadly, no. It turns out that a company in the area is using the plane to help train crew members, NetEase reports.
With time to kill, one driver went on WeChat to share the bizarre incident with his friends. “I hear you have traffic jams in big cities, but ours are very different,” he posted.
