A (blurry) video showing a chaotic fight between around 20 girls, armed with steel poles and machetes, has recently left netizens shocked and dismayed.
While it is all a bit hard to figure exactly who is fighting who, the 5-minute video stars a number of adolescent girls yelling and scrapping in front of a building. Suddenly, the brawl starts moving and one of the girls can be seen hitting another with the back of her machete. Not far away, another five girls are chasing after and beating one another.
The clip also shows ten girls gathered around a single young girl, beating and kicking her. Another gang arrives to drag the girl out. A fight follows between the two gangs, with some shouting, “Are you still my friend?” We would have to assume not.
According to police, the incident took place last Sunday afternoon in Silian town of Laibing city in Guangxi. Most of the girls involved were minors, some were students from a local middle school, Sina reports.
Police said that the gang fight had occurred because of an online dispute between some of the girls. Thankfully, no one was reported seriously injured.
Watch the video below and try to make sense of the carnage:
In the past, young female Chinese schoolchildren have proved themselves to not exactly be angels. Earlier this year, a video went viral showing a gang of mean girls beating, stripping and then beating some more one adolescent girl in Hainan.
Last year in Jiangxi, a group of middle school girls were filmed kicking and slapping one of their female classmates for nearly five minutes before stripping her of her clothes and forcing her to take photos with them.
