Spring is finally here! The frost is melting, flowers blooming and extravagant weddings commencing.
A convoy of luxury cars — including Ferrari, Lamborghini and Bentley — brought literally thousands of guests to one heck of a wedding banquet, held in Chengdu, Sichuan, over the weekend, Sina reports.
200 tables were set out to accommodate the over 2,000 relatives in attendance, whenever they got done with photographing the cars.
However, many netizens couldn’t help but feel less than charmed by the whole affair:
“Wasting more money doesn’t help to sustain a relationship,” wrote one netizen.
“I don’t understand the rich people’s world, but I hope that the money they use is clean,” commented another netizen.
“I wonder how much money the couple will make with 200 tables full of people?” wrote another web user.
Wealthy Chinese couples often like to splurge on their weddings to impress guests. Earlier this month, one ceremony in Zhejiang impressed everyone on the Internet as “the most tuhao wedding ever.”
But really, a wedding is judged by the amount and quality of the free stuff given out. Back in 2014, one post-90s couple in Guangdong dished out over 1.5 million yuan to celebrate their marriage in a public show of luxury cars and cash hand-outs.
