Get back to nature and show your urban offspring where potatoes, cabbages and carrots really come from. This is more than just a guided tour of a farm – that’s just the start of it! Register by Thursday April 14 to join a very special tour to FoodPedia organic farm next Sunday.
A fun-filled family day out!
Visiting a farm often proves to be a great day out, for kids and adults alike. With the chance to get back to nature and take a break from busy city life, there’s something uniquely calming about picking veggies in the open air. And for kids, it can be truly eye-opening to learn that the produce they see packaged, pickled and canned actually originates in the common old ground.
Enjoy and relax
After a guided tour of FoodPedia organic farm and all of its facilities, grownups will work up an appetite, taking part in an outdoor yoga class, while the kids get to play and have fun. All of this comes courtesy of Just Yoga and Mary Kids Party. After a hearty, well-earned organic hotpot lunch, served in the FoodPedia restaurant, you’ll get hands on in the fields picking vegetables.
While many farms today do offer high-quality visitor facilities, with one eye on the booming ecotourism business, farms are still farms and are definitely not weatherproof. So dress for the outdoors in clothes and shoes that you don’t mind getting a little mucky. And while you are free to amble around, remember that you don’t have carte blanche to wander aimlessly – plants, even soil itself, needs to breathe and compacting the soil under foot makes it harder for them to do just that.
Join popular online grocer FIELDS on Sunday April 17, celebrating its 7th Anniversary at FoodPedia Organic Farm. Enjoy a guided farm tour followed by an outdoor yoga class for the grownups and fun, interactive games for the little ones, courtesy of Just Yoga and Mary Kids. Then, after a hearty organic hotpot lunch served in the FoodPedia restaurant, get hands on in the fields picking vegetables or strawberries.
