Get another spot ready on the blacklist! On Monday a passenger on a flight from Beijing to Guangzhou soaked a pair of flight attendants, taking revenge after they accidentally spilled a bit of cranberry juice on him during turbulence.
The incident occurred on China Southern Airlines flight CZ323 from Beijing to Phnom Penh with a stopover in Guangzhou. While the flight attendants were serving drinks to passengers, the ride got a little bumpy, causing them to accidentally spill a few drops on a man surnamed Shen, NetEase reports.
For this grave offense, Shen shot up and demanded not just a verbal apology from the flight crew, but a written one from the guilty stewardess. After consultation, the crew agreed to tell the man they were sorry, but scoffed at giving it to him in writing. In response, Shen took a glass of water and threw its contents on the two flight attendants. A wet lap for a wet lap.
But Shen was not done, after soaking the stewardesses, he also offered a threat. “I know where you stay in Phom Penh, if you don’t write me that apology, I will get my friends down there to teach you a lesson,” he shouted, adding that he knew their boss in Guangzhou as well and they were really in for some serious trouble.
But, as it turns out, he was the one who got taught a lesson. After the plane landed in Guangzhou, public security officials detained the man for three days.
This same thing happened last year on a Kunming Airlines flight, with a passenger throwing a temper tantrum over his “wet pants,” he got detained for five days. That same year a mainland artist also got fined 6,000 HKD for chucking a cup at a flight attendant on a Cathay Pacific flight.
But hey, at least it was a cup of water, and not a cup of steaming hot noodles.
