A three-year-old boy plummeted from the 15th floor of an apartment building, all the way to the ground, somehow he survived. Kid has a hard head.
The child’s parents had recently moved into a new flat that boasted a semi-closed balcony with views of their neighborhood in Changzhou city, Jiangsu province. Worried about the safety of their three-year-old son, given the alias Qiqi, they decided to turn it into a fully-closed balcony, Yangtse Evening News reports.
On the morning of April 11th, while workers were taking the old windows down and carrying the new ones up, the mom arrived back home with Qiqi. Telling her son to stay in the living room, she went to the kitchen. However, when she returned, she was horrified to watch as her boy toppled off the 15-floor balcony.
On the way down, Qiqi crashed into an outdoor flower shelf (pictured above), slowing his descent somewhat. Still, the boy fell face-first into the ground, leaving a small crater in the soil, which luckily had been softened by recent rainfall.
Miraculously, the 15-story fall didn’t kill the three-year-old. He was rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment. His face was badly swollen and he sustained multiple broken bones in the accident. He remains in critical condition.
“He was so lucky. The pavement was only 15 centimeters away from where he fell down,” said his mother.
Safety first.
