Don’t we all like a nice, hearty, beef noodle soup? You do right? But do you like it enough to pay 2,000 yuan for one bowl? Probably not.
The humble beef noodle soup has been given a high-class makeover by a brave shop in Taiwan. For 100 to 2,000 of your finest yuan, you too can make a reservation and check out the menu.
In a modest-looking shop around 200 square meters in size, complete with group photos and a price list stuck on the wall, you wouldn’t think such a cozy place would dare to charge such insane prices, but there is a reason.
Meet Mr. Wang, a Shaanxi-native and founder of the best damn ultra-expensive noodle shop on either side of the strait. It all began in 1990, when Mr. Wang set up his very own noodle shop and within five or six years it became pretty successful. He then began to research and study methods of making the perfect beef bowl — from picking the right beef to using the right kitchen tools. Nowadays, his beef comes from Japan, Australia, America and Brazil, all top-notch of course, Sina reports.
Every piece of beef is carefully cut into a certain shape and with six distinct flavors of soup made from different sections of beef, there are also some 20 different noodle options to choose from.
“From the age of forty, I concentrated on making one bowl of beef noodles. It was quality not quantity, wanting to make the best taste and marketing the highest-quality noodles, I wanted to have the world’s best beef noodle shop!” he says.
Well we can’t argue with the man’s passion, that’s for sure. We salute your dedication Mr Wang, don’t suppose you’d be willing to give us a discount?
