Daddy’s little girl has reached a whole new meaning. A father-daughter-dog trio are on a 13,000-kilometer and counting adventure. They set off from their hometown Tangshan, Hebei province, in central China, on September 4th, 2015 with only a bike and a bike trailer loaded with some daily essentials and have been on the road since.
So far, they have traveled all the way to the provinces and regions of China’s Southwest like Guangxi, Yunnan and Hainan. Currently they are biking through Lhasa, People’s Daily reports.
Qi Hailiang and his daughter start their journey.
Qi Hailiang, the father, intends to continue their travels together until his daughter turns six years old next year and must begin school. “I hope the traveling experiences will help broaden her horizon,” Qi told Yanzhao Metropolis Daily. Qi and his daughter really seem to be enjoying themselves.
Qi is not alone in wanting to spend time with and share new experiences with his loved ones. In the past year, a devoted daughter took her wheelchair-bound mother around the world, a father sold his family home to travel with his daughter around the globe, and another dad took his 4-year-old son on a 540 kilometer rollerblading trip to Beijing.
As the pressures to do well in school continue to rise, parents, like Qi, realize that the time spent with their children before they embark on twelve years of competition is invaluable. As one netizen put it, “The little girl will see a lot of things along the route. No matter good or bad, they will be the most precious treasure in her life. I do envy her,” CCTVNews reported.
Next up on their great adventure is Xinjiang.
