If the mystery meat kebabs on the street corner aren’t exciting enough for you, then you should really take out some 20-yuan bills and head on up to Liaoning province.
There, a street vendor in Shenyang will sell you crocodile meat on a stick. Photos of the croc kebabs have attracted quite a bit of attention online.
Two live crocodiles are even placed right beside the barbecue as the vendor takes orders. If you’re lucky, you might even get to pet and hold one before you eat it.
It turns out that selling crocodile meat is perfectly legal in China. In 2003, the State Forestry Administration deemed that reproductive technology for crocodiles is developed enough. Farmers are allowed to breed and eat crocodiles as long as they have a license, People’s Daily reports.
From medicines, to pets, to food, this gigantic reptile can do everything and be everything.
