Bordeaux beat-makers, Smokey Joe & The Kid get the party swinging at QSW Culture Centre. The French culture community’s Fête de la Musique travels all around the Middle Kingdom this week.

Shanghai PRIDE: Art & Photo Exhibition @ Xin Cafe
The PRIDE art & photo exhibition opens at Xin Cafe, addressing the theme “I am me” with a look at sexuality and gender. For the opening show, Drishti Vinyasa Yoga Studio leads a performance art chant at 8pm, plus there’s complimentary drinks and tapas from Garden Restaurant & Bar. View the exhibition between June 17 and July 3, from 10am to 6pm.

Shanghai PRIDE: Run @ The Langham, Xintiandi
Shanghai PRIDE shakes off the hangover with Nike Run Club starting at The Langham, Xintiandi. Donations go to the “Rainbow School” organised by Common Language and there’s the Pink BBQ is free to all runners. Note – don’t wear any political symbols, runners will be wearing blue not rainbow colours.

The Shaanxi Road block holds an all day party to support the Orlando tragedy – Dogtown, Rooster, the Korean restaurant, Daliah, Strictly Cookies and Atelier Intimo all get involved. At Dogtown 100% of your Westwood Ale supports the cause, and at Rooster too 100% of Kentucky IPA bottles go to Orlando.

Shanghai PRIDE: Film Festival opening @ The Pearl
Rouge your lips and zip up your party boots kick for the opening of ShanghaiPRIDE Film Festival at The Pearl. The short film competition aims to promote Chinese queer narratives and the winning Best Film will be presented at Iris Prize (UK), with a chance to win £30,000 in production funding. Stick around for the after-party from 7.30pm – open to all party queens.
