An old man surnamed Tan has been using a large wooden basin to send his three granddaughters to school for over a week after torrential rains turned his neighborhood into a waterworld.
Because of all the rain, most roads nearby have been flooded, leaving more than 15,000 residents trapped without transport. Even with disaster at his doorstep, Tan never lets his grandchildren miss a single class, loading them into a wooden basin each day, and pushing them through the flooded streets, CCTV News reports.
