To mark the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC), China has been pushing its propaganda efforts into overdrive. Earlier this week, the Communist Youth League released a godawful rap video aiming to educate foreigners about the true China. Now, state broadcaster CCTV wants to know what foreigners know about the CPC.
In the video, titled “Foreigners (mostly) set the record straight about CPC mix-ups,” a handful of expats are asked questions about the 95-year-old party, in an attempt to clear up some “deeply-rooted misconceptions.”

Also, some have apparently never heard of Sidney Rittenberg, Israel Epstein, Kim Il-sung or other foreigners who have gone on to join the CPC. You don’t have to be Chinese, folks; just a Chinese citizen:
