The much-anticipated Beijing Daxing International Airport will commence the construction of its central terminal this September, with an estimated completion date of sometime in 2019.
As you would expect, plans are grand. In addition to 7 runways capable of handling 100 million passengers annually, the airport will also feature the world’s first bullet train station to be located inside an airport. That train station will be in the underground level, allowing passengers to take the Beijing-Kowloon high-speed line straight to the airport, for maximum convenience. The trip from Beijing South Railway Station is estimated to take just 30 minutes.
This newest revelation only heightens excitement for the eventual opening of the world’s largest air terminal. It will stand five stories above the ground — with two levels for arrivals and another two for departures, CRI English reports.
Not only has the new airport attracted attention for its size and innovation, but also its unique interior design, with netizens noticing one particular patterns that bears a close resemblance to a vagina.
