Man ‘accidentally’ gets hemorrhoid surgery while waiting for his wife to give birth

On one of the most important days of his life, as his wife was giving birth to their child, a man was lying in a bed just next door, “accidentally” receiving surgery to remove hemorrhoids.
The absurd incident occurred on August 8th at a hospital in Shenyang. Apparently, the surgery room for pregnant women having cesarean sections is located next to the one for hemorrhoid patients. Right outside, a 29-year-old man surnamed Wang was waiting anxiously for his wife to give birth. After 40 minutes, a nurse finally peaked her head out, asked him to come inside, and then told him drop his pants.
“While I was waiting outside, a nurse waved me into the surgery room. I thought that maybe my wife needed something, so I went in,” Wang said, according to People’s Daily.
“Once I was inside the surgery room, the nurse told me to take off my pants and lie down on the bed. At the time, I was a little doubtful, but I thought that this would make me just like my wife giving birth. So I took my pants off.”
Wang then lied down on the bed and awaited further instruction.
“When I was lying there, I heard the baby crying and I wanted to see my child, but my butt hurt so much that I couldn’t move,” Wang recalled, adding that he didn’t realize he was undergoing hemorrhoid surgery until it was completed and the doctor called his mother-in-law to inform her about the successful operation.
“Before that nobody told me that this a hemorrhoids operation. I didn’t sign any agreement, they never even asked me for my name,” Wang complained.
Afterward, Wang demanded an explanation. The hospital said that it had made a mistake and offered to pay him 5,000 yuan in compensation. Though, the hospital did add that Wang really did have hemorrhoids.
So in the end, the day went better than Wang could have ever imagined. He can walk away from the hospital with no hemorrhoids, 5,000 yuan and a newborn child, whenever his butt stops hurting.
