Ambroise Tézenas was born in Paris in 1972. He graduated from the Applied Arts School of Vevey, Switzerland in 1994. First based in London and then in Paris, he worked as a photo-journalist for both French and international magazines, spending much of his time traveling in Southeast Asia, Central and South America. His work “Beijing, theatre of the people” — produced in Beijing between 2001 and 2005 — witnessed the cyclic processes of destruction and reconstruction that China experienced before hosting the 2008 Olympic Games.
