Single Dogs Unite @ Yuyintang
Celebrate this Singles’ Day eve with three local bands in Yuyintang with Dahlia Rosea (indie), Ugly Girls (postpunk) and Peng Zhuang (drone). The show starts at 9pm and tickets are ¥40, ¥20 (with student card) with China student card or EF blue card.

Journey to the West @ Minsheng M21 museum
Notable Shanghainese artist Gu Wenda takes over Minsheng Museum’s Pudong from Nov 10. The exhibition includes around 300 pieces from the 1980s including experimental ink and wash paintings for which he’s best known for. The artist also has an outdoor installation called ”Red Light in Heaven” where the exterior of Minsheng M21 museum entirely in red lanterns.

West Bund Art & Design Fair @ West Bund Art Center
The new edition of West Bund Art & Design is held at West Bund Art Center from Nov 9 (Wed) to Nov 13 (Sun). This year, nearly 31 leading contemporary galleries from domestic and abroad is participating and bring works from the most dynamic and pioneering artists to the fair.

Diversity in Corporate Asia @ The British Chamber of Commerce Shanghai
The Chamber’s Sustainable Business Focus Group and Financial Services Focus Group duly invite the British Chamber of Commerce members to join a morning session to find out how diversity and inclusion environment can improve your company’s Corporate Social Responsibility and competitive business outlook. Carnstone Asia will launch their new report “Diversity in Corporate Asia”, which shows that among 200 publicly listed Asian companies, in general, diversity and inclusion still has a long way to go. There will be a panel discussion. Tickets are available for members only for ¥50 and the event runs from 8am-9.30am.

Alex Katz: West Broadway and Spring @ Qiao Space
London gallery Timothy Taylor is bringing over a major exhibition of works by Alex Katz. Best known for his distinct minimalist approach, the exhibition comprises portraits of family and friends, still-life of flowers purchased from street vendors near his Manhattan studio, and landscapes drawn from the artist’s personal experiences in urban and rural locations.

Halloween Carnival @ Happy Valley
The Halloween carnival in Happy Valley is divided into a day and an evening show. In the day, there’s a parade of puppets and pumpkins, an exhibition of big monsters made of straws, and fairies and clowns giving out sweets. At night there’s six ghost areas filled with mysterious parties and haunted houses. Altogether there’s 11 haunted houses of different themes including a funeral home, a train, school and a pit. Some of them even use VR to give you an immersive experience.There will be more than 100 ghosts and monsters wandering around and if you have the courage, you can also get a ghost make-up for free at the entrance of the park.
