ACT Shanghai International Theatre Festival @ Dramatic Arts Center
Asian Contemporary Theatre Shanghai International Theatre Festival, hosted by Shanghai Dramatic Arts Centre (SDAC), is an annual event introducing international contemporary performing arts works and a platform for artists and audience to meet through theatre. Started in 2005, ACT now celebrates their 12th birthday and have expanded its reach beyond, though maintaining a focus on Asia artists and their works. Check out their website here. ONE OK ROCK @ Mercedes Benz Arena
Japanese rock band ONE OK ROCK performs at Mercedes Benz Arena tonight at 8pm. Tickets range from ￥480 to ￥1280. Since releasing their single in 2007 in Japan, the band has gained momentum by performing in 100 live concerts every year and has continued their success at rock festivals and signed a worldwide distribution with Warner Bros with their latest album ’35xxxv’.

Live Green @ Urbn Hotel
Join this forum ‘Smart Home, Green Family: Green Drinks Chinese Forum’ to explore how technology enables us to live a greener and healthier life. Second Chance Animal Aid’s (SCAA) Annual Grand Raffle of over 15 Hyatt Hotels & Resorts stays in China and Asia will be drawn at their final quiz night of the year at The Apartment at 8pm. Shanghai Ballet @ Shanghai Grand Theatre (Nov 23, 24)
Originally choreographed by Petipa and Ivanov with a score by Tchaikovsky, ‘The Nutcracker’ is adapted from Hoffmann’s story. It’s known as one of the best Russian National Ballet Theatre’s productions in the modern era. Joined by an acting cast in a fairytale setting, it embodies all the elements of love, fantasy, good versus evil and love. The show starts at 7.15pm and tickets range from ￥180-680.

”Matt and Ben” @ The Market

The Split Works Secret Warehouse Party
At a secret location in Shanghai, The Split Works throws a big birthday bash for their 10th anniversary. Post-punk upstarts Eagulls, supporting post-punk royalty P.K. 14. Yang Haisong and co. are “China’s most influential band” (Vice), and one of the central foundations of the country’s indie scene today. They’ve been a massive support to China’s independent music scene for the last 10 years. There’ll be craft booze, crafted food, and plenty of other surprises. A ‘donation’ of ¥150 for entry is required, and the location will be revealed to generous donors a few days prior to the event.
The 11th Shanghai Biennale @ Power Station of Art
‘Why Not Ask Again?’ The theme of this biennale is both a demand and a query. It tells us to look beyond answers. This biennale will have done its work if it gives rise to a forest of questions in your mind and a storm of desires in your heart, where the unpredictable is something to be welcomed, not feared.

Andy Warhol @ YUZ Museum
Yuz Museum is proud to organize for the first time in Asia, the Chinese premiere of Shadows by Andy Warhol: “a monument to impermanence” (Holland Cotter, New-York Times). Shadows is valued as the most mysterious work by Andy Warhol, the most influential artist of the 20th century, “the King of Pop”, that shows the unknown side of the artist. The exhibition is presented in collaboration with the globally acclaimed Dia Art Foundation, New York. It opens at Yuz Museum, Shanghai on Saturday, 29th October and lasts until December the 18th.
