On Saturday at 10 a.m., Shanghai’s seventh Apple store will open its doors in the new Vanke Mall in Qibao.
There are 489 Apple store locations worldwide with 40 of them located in China (and that’s not even counting the fake ones).
This latest outlet opens at a bit of a troubling time as the company faces renewed complaints of its flagship iPhone 6 having battery problems and also randomly bursting into flames. Between September and November, the Shanghai Consumer Council handled eight cases related to iPhones “self-igniting.” Today, Apple blamed these explosive handful of problems on “external factors.”
Meanwhile, because of the battery problem, Apple China is allowing users to return certain iPhone 6 models for replacements. However, Chinese consumer groups believe that the company still needs to take broader steps to satisfy concerns in China.
You can avoid these problems by simply buying the new iPhone 7. Head on down to the new store on Saturday and pick one up for the one you love. We’re sure she’ll appreciate it. While you’re there, you can also check out the innovative “husband nursery” on the third floor.
Take that, Chengdu!
