How about this for an achievement? Yang Haihua, a car mechanic from Fangchenggang in Guangxi, has constructed a sports coupe for a mere sum of 80,000 RMB ($11,600).
Having worked in the automobile maintenance industry for more than 10 years, it took Yang three years to assemble this golden masterpiece, which he also patented, CCTV News reports.
Considering that this looks as good as a Lambo and it costs less than a tenth of the price of one, we think it’s pretty good value. He gets to save on that high luxury car tax as well.
Previous examples of custom cars in China include DIY solar-powered rides and spiffing Ariel Atom lookalikes.
To be fair, it has only been a year since people in China were making cars out of wood.
and uh… god knows what.
So progress has been quite good overall. Maybe next year they will discover mass production.
