While Shanghai continues to feel like a virtual tropical paradise, some other places in China are not quite so lucky.
On Tuesday this week, the temperature in Hulunbuir, a region in northernmost Inner Mongolia, plummeted to minus 43.8 degrees Celsius, the coldest temperature on record in China so far this winter.
Meteorologists have already predicted that this will be China’s coldest winter since 2012, thanks to the affects of La Niña and a massive air mass floating in from the Arctic.
Brave yourselves, people.
