If China really is trying to create a pig-monkey hybrid species, they at least have a really good cover story.
Despite looking like the result of a genetic experiment gone awry, this little guy was born on a farm in Guizhou province. Because of his “monkey-like face,” he has attracted a number of curious locals to Farmer Lin’s courtyard.
While it’s not clear what would cause a pig’s face to look like that, experts have speculated that environmental pollution may have played a role, NetEase reports.
Because of the deformities, this little piggy is unable to suckle milk from its mom, leaving Farmer Lin to feed it with a baby bottle.
Mutant piglets are always a popular attraction in the Chinese countryside. Back in June, one Sichuan farmer proudly showed off his prized piglet with two heads and three eyes.
Last year, a Tianjin man adopted a two-faced, three-eared cutie that he found outside a local temple. Back in 2013, a surprisingly adorable two-headed, three-eyed piggy was found in Nanchang, Jiangxi province. The next year, one piglet with two mouths and two noses was born to a mixed-breed mother pig in Yunlin, Taiwan.
We’re starting to think that there might be something going on here.
